In this tutorial I walk you through what you need to know to get started in rendering in a SketchUp to Kerkythea workflow. It is not a comprehensive overview of the topic, but a very basic and brief explanation of core concepts and method. The aim is to flatten your learning curve and help you discover what works for you.
This tutorial compliments last week's tut "Creating an Animation SketchUp to Kerkythea".
I use this workflow to quickly turn out renderings from complicated material palettes to quick sketches. One example of such a quick sketch is "Road Block" from the Translated series on the SKETCHblog. For those of you who already have SketchUp at the core of your design process, this rendering method (which, by the way, uses all free software) has lots of benefits with little effort.
