Parti Exercise
Parti 1
The purest form diagramming the dynamic of open-source culture, the sizes of each colored unit delineates its three different elements and how they work together. The large cyan unit represents the community, the smaller magenta unit represents individual users and the medium size yellow units represent niches. The structure of open-source ecology is such that the individual user has the power. Because this diagram shows the individual as the conduit between the community and the niche, it suggests that individual users are the very crux of the structure even though they are the smallest unit.
Parti 2
A graphic representation of the program within the site drawn in section, this parti explores the potential of public space to ascend into the sky and engage scenic views while individual units and niches lie adjacent to the public spine. It also indicates the three dimensionality of the site by indicating slopes, heights and basic geometry.
Parti 3
A graphic representation of the program within the site drawn in plan, this parti suggests a linking of existing public space as well as a nexus for public interaction adjacent to the this intensified public circulation path. The angles and locations of the individual and niche units are in concurrence with existing site geometry. The composition of these unit types are derived from site conditions which influence program such as natural daylight, views and neighboring buildings.
